Spanish cinema once again dresses long with 'A Forbidden God', the new from director Pablo Moreno, that throughout 133 minutes immerses us in the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. The production has had an extensive cast headed by: Inigo Etayo (Ramon Illa Novich), Elena Furiase, Jerónimo Salas (Faustino Pérez), Álex Larumbe (Juan Echarri), Luis Seguí (Salvador Pigem), Eneko Capapay (Miguel Massip), Gabriel González (José Figuero), Ricardo del Cano (Atilio), Isaac Israel (Rafael) and Guido Agustín Balzaretti (Pablo Hall), among others.

The script, which has been written by Juanjo Díaz Polo, places us in August 1936, when the Spanish Civil War began. More specifically in the last weeks of life of 51 members of the Claretian Community of Barbastro (Huesca), who were detained and finally shot at the hands of revolutionary militiamen. During that time, they wrote various writings where they talk about their situation, their companions in captivity, the people who saw them ... who have served as testimony for the development of the script.

'A forbidden god', based on real events, supposes the coming-out of the young actress Elena Furiase, daughter of Lolita Flores, and who became popular on television thanks to her role in the Antena 3 series 'El Internado'. Currently Furiase participates in the last season of the series 'Love in troubled times'.

Despite the poor sound, some costume errors and a few voiceovers that were left over, 'A forbidden god' is a good proposal. And it is that despite addressing such a hackneyed topic in Spanish cinema, such as the Civil War and the thousand stories that accompanied the terrible fight, Pablo Moreno's film has such an intelligent and agile script, that it is difficult not to be captivated by the film, and it is that Juanjo Díaz Polo has told us his version of the story in an excellent way.
