Last weekend the awards of the 22nd edition of the European Film Awards were failed - each time with less impact - and the great winner was the German film Michael Haneke's White Ribbon and, I must write, how well deserved because we are facing one of the best films of the year.
In these awards there was also Spanish representation, with the Spanish film Los Abrazos rotos, nominated for best director, actress and music, finally falling a Best Music Award for Alberto Iglesias, one of the best composers of the seventh art today.

- Best Actress: Kate Winslet by The Reader.
- Best screenplay: The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke.
- Best Cinematography: Anthony Dod Mantle by Antichrist y Slumdog Millionaire.
- Best music: Broken Embraces by Alberto Iglesias.
- Best artistic contribution: Francesca Calvelli, costume designer for Win.
- Best animated film: Mia and the Migoo by Jacques-Rémy Gired (France).
- Best discovery of the year: Katalin varga by Peter Strickland.
- Best European Short Film: You heard Remaining by Marcel? ozi? ski (Poland)
- Audience Award for Best Film: Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle.
- Euroimages Award: Diana Elbaum and Jani Thiltges.
- Award for an entire career: Ken Loach.
- Best European contribution to world cinema award: Isabella Huppert.
- FIPRESCI Award: Andrzej Wajda.
