Roger Deakins, one of the most famous directors in Hollywood, joins the team of the second part of 'Blade Runner'.
The film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, with whom already the photographer has collaborated on two occasions, in 'Prisoners' two years ago and in 'Sicario', film that these days premieres at the Cannes Film Festival.
Roger Deakins has been nominated for an Oscar for best cinematography up to 12 times, without winning on any of those occasions, and I have been with films by some of the best directors in recent years such as the Coen brothers, in films such as 'Barton Fink', 'Fargo' or 'No country for old men' ('No Country for Old Men'), Martin Scorsese, in films like 'Kundun' or Sam Mendes, in films like 'Jarhead' or 'Skyfall'.
Now Roger Deakins will be in charge of the photography of 'Blade Runner 2' taking over from Jordan Cronenweth, who was in charge of this work in the Ridley Scott film a little more than three decades ago and who won the award for best photography by the Los Angeles Critics.
