French cinema is increasingly exporting more and better cinema and we will be able to see a new sample of this next Friday with the French film "A Christmas Carol", Directed by Arnaud Desplechin.

The story that tells A Christmas Carol is:

Abel (Jean-Paul Roussillon) and Junon Vuillard (Catherine Deneuve) have two children, Joseph and Elizabeth (Anne Consigny). Affected by a strange genetic disease, Joseph needs a bone marrow transplant. Elizabeth is not compatible and so her parents decide to have a third child, Henri, in the hope of being able to save Joseph. But it is not compatible either, and Joseph dies at the age of seven. Then Ivan will be born, her fourth and last child. Years pass, and Elizabeth becomes a playwright in Paris; Henri goes from successful businesses to fraudulent bankruptcies, and Ivan, with a very troubled adolescence, has become the almost reasonable father of two slightly strange children. One day, Elizabeth, exasperated by the excesses of her brother Henri, decides to exclude him from any relationship with the family. Nobody knows exactly what happened or why. Henri has disappeared and the family seems dissolved. "A Christmas Carol" begins when Junon discovers that he has the same illness that Joseph suffered from. A donor has to be found among his family members, and Elizabeth's son Paul, a troublesome teenager, seems to be the most appropriate candidate. Christmas is coming. The whole family gets together to spend three days at Roubaix's house. Convinced by Paul, Henri (Mathieu Amalric) has accepted the invitation and arrives accompanied by his new love: Faunia (Emmanuelle Devos). It is time to settle accounts ...
