A few dates ago something happened in Barcelona that could have cost Mediapro more than 7 million euros. Two thieves stole a backpack from a terrace in Eixample that contained an unpublished blockbuster that is narrated by Woody Allen.
It was about a documentary titled BCN3D, directed by Manuel Huerga, one of the most anticipated films in 3D and Imax projection rooms. Everything was in a fright since the Urban Guard noticed the robbery and was able to arrest them and recover everything at the time.
This backpack belonged to a Mediapro post-production specialist and contained a hard drive where the aforementioned copy was kept, as well as “La rosa de foc”, which had a budget of 2,4 million euros and a hard drive. These losses would have been a severe blow.
Finally the agents were able to arrest the thieves, who surely did not know what was inside the backpack, but in case the film had seen the light before its premiere, it would have been a real ruin for Mediapro. Surely this company worker will have gotten a good fight for his carelessness since he left his backpack on the terrace while he entered the cafeteria for a moment.
