This weekend the Japanese animation classic of the year 1988 is released Mi Vecino Totoro, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, with only 5 copies and in the original version with subtitles.
This reduced release is due more than anything to releasing the film in theaters for later sale on DVD, which is where its distributor plans to make money with it.
Mi Vecino Totoro tells the story of two girls, Satsuki and Mei, who have moved to the countryside to live with their father, while their mother recovers from a serious illness at the hospital in the region. In the nearby forest, Satsuki and Mei discover the existence of extraordinary beings, the spirits of the forest, that can only be seen by people with a pure heart. When Mei, trying to get to the hospital to see her mother, goes astray, Satsuki turns to Totoro, the king of the forest, to help her find her little sister.
