Spanish cinema is in luck because two national films occupy the first and second place at the box office. Something that had not been produced for years.
The No. 1 box office in Spain last weekend has been for Daniel Monzón's new film entitled Quick 211 with a figure of 1,24 million euros while, Agora of Alejandro Amenábar, drops to second place after four consecutive weeks as No. 1 and has already accumulated 18,4 million euros.
The third place is for another premiere, the American thriller The Box with Cameron Díaz who achieves € 810.000 in collection. On the other hand, in fourth place we also have another premiere with Richard Gere with a dog that manages to attract the attention of Spanish viewers by achieving € 780.000.
The fifth place is for the production of terror Fatal destination which adds up to € 760.000 and accumulates 2,4 million euros.
Another premiere debuts in sixth place, the Julia and Julia movie he gets € 680.000 in his first weekend but, it is clear, that he will not be able to sweep as he did in the USA where he has raised 90 million dollars.
El documentary about Michael Jackson This is it! It falls to seventh place, and it is confirmed that it will not be the pitch they announced, it achieves 670.000 and already accumulates 3 million in ten days. It is not a bad figure for a music documentary but it is far from the figures that Sony expected.
La second part of Millennium It seems that it will not have the success of the first part but it already accumulates a good 4 million in three weeks. A very respectable figure for a Swedish production made with little means.
The guinea pigs of G-Force they continue to dazzle the Spanish public, and in the 9th place they raise € 600.000 and have already collected 8 million euros in Spain.
The last position of the Top Ten is for another premiere, the sci-fi thriller Pandorum that achieves € 474.000. As you can see, it had been a long time since the weekend's collection had been so distributed among all the Top Ten films.
