Spain leads the way in illegal music downloads

Is it a product of the economic crisis? The truth is that the 42% of Spanish Internet users access at least once a month to pages with content that "violates copyright" (illegal downloads), which places them at the head of European countries and well above the world average, which is 28%, according to the International Federation of the Recording Industry.

In its annual report, IFPI indicates that in Europe the average number of visits to web pages that do not respect copyright is 27%. And among the countries that most exceed the world average of 28%, it also stands out Brazil, where these monthly visits from Internet users reach 44%.

Within the world average, half of Internet users use P2P networks, in addition to blogs, cyberlockers, forums or applications based on smart phones.

In Spain, now the digital music industry will be pending the effectiveness of the law that will regulate intellectual property on the Internet (Sinde Law), which will take effect in March.
