Slash, the flamboyant guitarist of the Guns'n'Roses, would begin the recordings of his new solo album in the next few days, assures his usual collaborator, bassist Todd Kerns in a recent post published on his personal blog. According to Kerns, the well-known guitarist will enter the recording studio next February.
Kerns advanced from his blog: “To tell the truth, getting another album that reaches the artistic level of 'Apocalyptic Love' (Slash's last album) is not going to be easy. Although I also know that we have the artistic quality and the professional preparation to try it. I have a feeling that the new material can achieve positive surprise to our followers. As a band, I'm sure we've grown quite a bit, in fact I respect our past. I am realistic but also optimistic ».
The bassist also revealed: «The new songs that we have composed are more fun, although at the same time more serious than the previous ones, it really is not easy to find an ideal balance between these two extremes. The themes are more raw and risky, aspects that I personally love. I hope to be able to play them live soon, I assure you that it will be a true avalanche of sound and good rock'n'roll ». Finally Kerns anticipated: "We will enter the study next February and we will stay there for the next few months until the album is finished ".
