Singer Pete Doherty to undergo rehab again

British singer Pete Doherty he intends to undergo drug rehab treatment again at the end of this month, as revealed by himself in an interview with the music magazine NME published today.

The controversial musician, former leader of the group The Libertines, acknowledges in that interview that "giving up drugs is a long road" that he is "very far from achieving", but explains that a detoxification process will begin at the end of April.

The singer-songwriter, who has a long history of problems with drugs and the law, recently starred in a film with the French actress. Charlotte Gainsbourg, with whom he had a relationship that ended, says the interview, because she was not used to his pace of life.

The ex-partner of the model Kate Moss was sentenced on May 20 to six months in jail for possession and consumption of cocaine.The Libertines band, of which Doherty was a vocalist, dissolved in 2004 because another of its members, Carl barat, lost patience with the singer's behavior and drug abuse.

The group returned to give a series of concerts in 2010, but currently all its members have embarked on a professional career separately. Doherti, who now lives in Paris, presented a collection of clothes designed by himself last month for the French label The Kooples and is continuing his solo music career.
