Santiago Auserón He has dedicated some emotional words on his Facebook with a text about his partner on Radio Futura, Enrique Sierra. In it he defines him as "the catalyst for the electric sound of Madrid" and talks about what he feared losing him since his illness appeared for the first time in 1981. “Enrique Sierra was the central spirit, the magma of Radio Futura, throughout all its formations. The rest of us threw one way or the other, we often argued, we lost our minds, while he remained calm, elegant, polite, releasing the right phrase at the time that helped us to see more clearly.
Without its sense of electric sonority, Radio Futura would never have caught on. His relationship with the guitar was very particular. He was never worried about making scales, he rehearsed what had to be played, period. His way of sticking the instrument to his body, putting his hands on the wood, his fingers on the strings, made the electricity come out as if from within. It filled the space with clean sound and ready to be shared immediately.
That was the first thing that fascinated me about the rehearsal room, which made me want to be part of a group, more than singing or being in photos. Become part of the electric sound.
