Cancer has taken away another of the greats of the Spanish scene, Pepe Sancho. The Valencian actor died today at the Valencian Institute of Oncology, a victim of cancer. Sancho lavished himself in all genres, film, television and theater. The most recent generations will remember him for his Don Pablo in the TVE series'Remember when', although the older ones, we cannot forget his role as The Student in the series of Curro Jimenez.

José Sancho was 68 years old and his career that spanned over 50 years it shot itself, as we said, with his interpretation of 'The Student' in the series Curro Jiménez by TVE, a chain in which he was already famous for his participation in various 'Estudio 1'. Already in the 90s he returned to television with the series 'Carmen and family (1996) ', together with Beatriz Carvajal and her former partner in Curro JiménezAlvaro de Luna.  

A year later one of his many film roles was recognized with the Goya Award in the Supporting Actor category for their role in Tremulous flesh (1997), together with Javier Bardem. He also collaborated with Almodóvar on the film Talk to her (2002). Other outstanding films in his history are: Ay Carmela! by Carlos Saura, All to jail by Luis García Berlanga and Libertarians scored by Vicente Aranda.

Then came small television roles and intense theatrical activity, but It was his role as a strict Francoist businessman, Mr. Pablo, in the TVE series, Remember when, the one that brings him great popularity and recognition from 2001 to 2008. And from there to new titles: Plan America (2008); 23-F: the most difficult day of the king (2009); A burka for love (2009); Tarancón, the fifth commandment (2010); Crematorium, on the novel by Rafael Chirbes; and in the historical blockbusters of Antena 3, Hispania, leyenda y Empire.

Regarding your personal life, he was married 22 years to the singer María Jiménez, with whom he has a son, named Alejandro, and whose controversial relationship always had them in the limelight. The couple divorced and he later married journalist Reyes Monforte in 2006.
