The French Steven Spielberg, that is, Luc Besson, created the character of "Nikita" in 1990 with the film of the same name, whose protagonist was the French actress Anne Parillaud.
The success of the film and her character led the Americans to make their own remake in 1993, casting Bridget Fonda as the main character.
After these two films, the character of "Nikita" was forgotten until it became a television series in 1997, starring the actress Peta Wilson. The series was of Canadian origin and was successful until 2001.
However, nine years later, "Nikita" comes to life again with a remake of the Canadian series, starring Maggie Q, seen in the movie "Mission Impossible 3".
It is clear that when a character has charisma, the cinema or television will always return to him.
