Metallica they are still working on what will be their next album, after 'Death Magnetic' seven years ago. Kirk Hammett, guitarist, has been giving details to Billboard on how they are progressing in the recording of this new album: “We have a lot of good songs. The songs are always changing right now, nothing is set in stone. We have a dozen songs and two or three hundred riffs, so it's hard to tell where we are. I don't think we're halfway there yet. I'd say we're at 25 percent, maybe 30. We're working on it, there are songs, and we're making plans to write more songs and record. ".
On the other hand, drummer Lars Ulrich spoke for Rolling Stone, explaining that the band is currently working on almost twenty songs: “We are definitely on it. We have a lot of songs and we are fine-tuning and tweaking. We are quite close. The creative elements are coming together and nearing completion. When I say that we are close this means next month or so. There is a lot of material going on as life goes on with family and personal matters. But we are writing a lot every day ".
Metallica also has planned a series of concerts in some festivals in Europe -without any date in Spain for now- and at Rock in Rio USA -Las Vegas- next May. The band is expected to surprise with some of their new songs during these concerts.
