On the other hand, Paul Greengrass has stated:
“I just love the Bourne franchise, I owe him so much and I gave him my best in both films I did. But when I was organizing my priorities and being honest with myself in the fall of last year, the point came that I realized that there was nothing I could contribute back to the franchise, that I obviously had to continue, but that to do so, the saga must be taken up by new generations. However, this trilogy has given many dollars of benefits to its production company, Universal Pictures, so they will invent something to continue with the saga without its main protagonist.
