On the occasion of the imminent release of "Avatar" on DVD and Blu-Ray, James Cameron has again made a statement about Avatar 2:
“We have created a great canvas for the environment of the film. This is not just on Pandora, but on the entire Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expanded through that system to incorporate it more into the story; not necessarily in the second film, more towards a third installment. Part of my goal in the second film is to create a different environment, a different place than Pandora. I'm going to focus on the ocean of Pandora, which will be just as rich, diverse, crazy, and imaginative, but without being a rainforest. I am not saying that we will not show what we have seen before, but that we will see that too ”.
In addition, Cameron has confessed that "Avatar" will be re-released in theaters next August because, in his opinion, there are still many viewers wanting to see it or to watch it again.
