James Cameron celebrated his 56th birthday at the bottom of Lake Baikal, as he himself has commented to the press:
«My friend Anatoli Sagalévich invited me. He called me and said that I had to visit this place, and then I thought: Why not? He had not been aboard the Mir for five years, and birthday is a good opportunity to do so. According to the director and film producer, at the bottom of Baikal, which is the deepest lake on the planet, "there are very small creatures, but if we enlarge them we will get very interesting beings."
Interestingly, several of these species will serve Cameron to devise the sea creatures of Avatar 2.
