La IX Villaverde Ibero-American Film Week It will take place between June 22 and 27, 2009 and we leave you with the most outstanding events of its programming:
- The South American actor, Miguel Ángel Solá will receive the Honor Award of the IX edition of the contest for his long career and for being a bridge between the Ibero-American and Spanish audiovisuals.
- Continuing with the dissemination of social cinema, the festival will award a Special Award of Honor to Juan Manuel Montilla, El Langui, revelation actor in the Goyas 2009, for his social and artistic work, and his spirit of improvement. The Manco trick will be screened in which he has been the protagonist.
- The Mexican comedy, Know the head of Juan Pérez, best First Film at the Guadalajara International Festival, brings Latin American humor to the contest.
- Julio Cortázar's world will be present with the Argentine feature, Mentiras piadosas, a debut by Diego Sabanés.
- Mercedes Sampietro debuts as a director with Turismo, her first short film.
- Children's film workshops: The little ones take action and participate in an audiovisual production workshop.
