Me bitch

Last night I saw the movie «whore«, Translated as«Me bitch", of Moon, also known as María Lídon. Spanish film, from 2004, which takes a tour of the prostitution in Spain.

The plot centers on a narrative voice, female, who is conducting research for the writing of her book. It is she who makes the reports to the different prostitutes and gigolos, also making her own point of view known through the voice-over. In parallel, the story of two women who live in the same building as the writer is also told, one of whom is a prostitute, and the other enters the business out of financial necessity.

The film could enter the eschatological or the hyper-explicit without any inconvenience, but it remains level in the limit between what is said and what is not said, giving rise to the spectator's imagination to guess what they like to guess. It is a film that at no time is feasible to be considered as in bad taste, but I believe that, with height, it talks about a subject that few have dared to touch, being that sex, in all the countries of the world, is a taboo subject of which few boast of expressing their opinion.

The movie is based on the book "Whore", by Isabel Pisano, which is the one that, in the plot, tells how it takes shape.

What seemed most interesting to me is the fact that it does not focus only on the Spanish community for its research, but also covers all the nationalities that practice the profession in the country. As well as interviewing film directors and pornographic photographers, differentiating the professions within what many people consider the same thing.

A film that does not have any degree of virtuosity, but that I think is interesting to watch.
