One of the most important figures in Spanish cinema dies in Madrid at the age of 83. Jose Luis Borau.

Filmmaker, writer and law graduate, Borau has developed multiple works within the Cinema industryHe has been a director, screenwriter, producer, critic and professor of cinematography.

One of the most important filmmakers in the history of Spanish cinema, which has seen his work recognized with many awards such as the Gold Medal of Fine Arts (1988), the Gold Medal of the New York Festival (1994), the Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain (2000), National Film Award (2002) or the Menéndez Pelayo International University Award for Cinematography (2010).

Some of his works will always remain for the memory such as "Sneaky" Golden Shell from the San Sebastián Film Festival and the Luis Buñuel Award, «Camada negra» Berlin Silver Bear or "Leo» Goya Award to the best director.
