For the fourth time, Ecuador will try to get his first nomination in the Hollywood Academy Awards.
The film chosen by the South American country is «Silence in the land of dreams»By Tito Molina.
Ecuador was presented for the first time to the preselection at Oscar de Best Foreign Language Film in 2000 with "Dreams in the Middle of the World" by Carlos Naranjo Estrella, he returned in 2004 with "Crónicas" by Sebastián Cordero. The third and last time to date that Ecuador sought the candidacy was last year with "Better not to talk about certain things" by Javier Andrade. None of these three films ever passed the first screen.
This year he will try again to reach the gala with "Silence in the Land of Dreams", a film by Tito Molina which tells the story of an old woman who since the death of her husband has learned to make routine her best company and faith her refuge, in a house where silence and solitude reign. But in dreams the old woman escapes from those four walls towards a magical land without time where the sea speaks without words. His days go by like this: between the real and the dreamlike, until the day a stray dog knocks on his door.
