There is already a date for the filming of the new installment of «Predator». It will be September in Canada specifically in Vancouver. There this new story will be shot completely, combining, once again, fantasy, horror and science fiction.
There is already a movie star. Dwayne Johnson was the protagonist. It will not be the only collaboration between Johnson and director Shane Black, they will be together in the next comic adaptation of 'Doc Savage'. It is an ambitious project that will begin after the filming of 'Predator'.
Recall that the original "Predator" was one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's biggest hits (who will have a role, the extent of which has not yet been finalized) in his career in Hollywood. In it, the former governor of California played Major Alan "Duch" Shaefer, in charge of a special operations group that was initially fulfilling the mission of ending a rebel nucleus of a Central American guerrilla.
When the group is in the jungle, they are surprised by a truly deadly alien creature. It should be mentioned that Shane Black, now director, was part of the cast in one of the supporting roles. In the movie that is about to start shooting, the plot follows the real time pattern, that is, we will see a new protagonist in a totally updated story.
Johson's schedule is very tight. In July "A spy and a half" will be released, where he shares the scene with Kevin Hart, and will also voice one of the main characters of Moana (Moana), the new Disney animated film directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. Already for 2017, and in addition to the aforementioned remake of Jumanji with Jack Black, Johnson will appear in the eighth installment of the saga Fast & Furious with Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron.
In 2019, projects of the size of Shazam, superhero movie in which he will play the villain Black Adam and, also, Journey to the Center of the Earth 4.
