An association of Croatians residing in France filed a lawsuit against the singer in recent days Bob Dylan and Rolling Stone magazine (France) for an alleged crime of racism. The so-called Council of Croats of France considers that Dylan's comments in the October edition of last year of the music magazine are explicitly incitement to hatred.

Specifically in the interview Dylan compared the United States of today with that country of the Civil War, in the mid-nineteenth century. In the interview, the veteran singer begins by measuring the tone of his statements but at the end of it he messes with various groups with unusual naivety.

Dylan states in the interview: «The truth is that I don't know how to explain it. The United States as a nation destroyed itself to end slavery, with a death toll of 500 Americans. The country is complicated by color, and blacks know that there are groups of whites who were not interested in ending slavery. So if you have a slave master or a member of the Ku Kux Klan in your blood, blacks can feel it and that remains to this day. In the same way that Jews can feel the blood of a Nazi, or Serbs that of a Croat ».

Vlatko Maric, President of the Council of the Croats of France, stated that: “Dylan's statements have been a clear incitement to hatred. It can not compare Croatian criminals to all Croats ». The lawsuit filed by the organization has already been admitted for processing and both Dylan and the 'Rolling Stone' face a possible fine for racism in France.
