Nominations for the Art Directors Guild Awards (ADG) and there have not been many surprises.
Most notable is the absence of «The Master»Which is left out, shortly after it was also ignored by the Producers Guild in their nominations.
«Moonrise Kingdom«, The film that seemed one of the great favorites for these awards and also for the Oscar in this category, does not receive the nomination either.
Of these fifteen nominees in the three categories, the candidates for the Oscar for Best Production Design, a category that has come to be called by this name but was previously known as best artistic direction.
The films nominated in the category of best artistic direction in period film tend to have a better chance of facing the Academy AwardsAlthough this year you have to be very attentive to some of the fantasy films such as "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" or "Life of Pi".
