'Alice Through the Looking Glass': Fantastic New Trailer

Alice through the looking glass characters

Recently Walt Disney Pictures has presented a new preview of 'Alice Through the Looking Glass', sequel to 'Alice in Wonderland' by Tim Burton, a film that gave birth in 2010 garnering somewhat negative reviews due to its lack of clarity.

And it is to bring fantastic films based on books like these to the screen, in which dreams and dreams play a fundamental roleIt's not an easy task at all… Also, properly playing Lewis Carroll is sheer madness.

Taking into account the difficulty involved in explaining stories with surreal ingredients, we hope that James Bobin, director of the sequel, gives us a compelling version of the second part of the fantasy novel, known to be one of the great classics of XNUMXth century English literature.

Many of the characters that appeared in the first installment will now appear again: Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice or Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter. Continuity is more than guaranteed! In the new trailer you can also listen to the famous theme of Jefferson Airplane, White Rabbit, now played by P! NK.

Before giving foot to trailer I leave you the official synopsis of the feature film:

Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the last few years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon his return to London, he passes through a magic mirror and returns to the fantastic kingdom of the Underworld with his friends the White Rabbit (Sheen), Absolem (Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Fry) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not the same. The Hatter has lost his Manyness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe within the Great Clock chamber that powers all time. Returning to the past, he crosses paths with friends - and enemies - at different times in their lives, and embarks on a dangerous race to save the Hatter before time runs out.

What did you think of the trailer? To me, right off the bat, very faithful to the novel does not seem to me. Even if it appears Humpty Dumpty, the anthropomorphic egg, the whole is not very familiar to me, and even more so considering that we return to see the scene of tea time with the Mad Hatter, the March Hare and the Dormouse.

The Hatter appeared in the book "Alice Through the Looking Glass and What She Found There" as Hatta, a Hatter in trouble with the law once again, accused of having committed a crime before committing it. The mythical scene with tea, butter, clockwise rotations and so on, did not appear again.

Alice Through the Looking Glass Characters Humpty Dumpty

Whatever the legal status of the Hatter in the new film, we assume that it will not be good: the character is in danger, and Alice will go to his rescue, although for this will have to face Time itself, played by, nothing more and nothing less, than Sacha Baron Cohen. The concept of tiempo it has always been a central theme in Lewis Carroll's novels, as well as complex. Trying to define it is a very ambitious task ... Will the sequel solve it well? It is difficult to know to what extent the film will minimally respect the essence of the book by reading the official synopsis and seeing the new promotional material.

El premiere in Spain of 'Alice through the looking glass' is scheduled for next May 27. Tick, tock, tick, tock ...
