La Crítica de Londres ha mostrat el seu suport especialment a «El Sr. Turner»i«Birdman» en les nominacions als premis.
Tant la cinta de Mike Leigh com la d'Alejandro González Iñarritu obtenen fins a set candidatures, incloent-hi millor film i millor direcció.
«Sota la pell» és la gran sorpresa, aconsegueix fins a cinc candidatures i es cola en millor pel·lícula i millor direcció, mateixes mencions que «Nen»i«El Grand Budapest Hotel«, dues de les cintes més apreciades per la crítica aquesta temporada de premis.
Tres actors aconsegueixen la doble nominació, Benedict Cumberbatch per The Imitation Game, Eddie Redmayne per «The Theory of Everything» i Timothy Spall per «Mr. Turner», tots tres opten a millor actor ia millor actor britànic.
Julianne Moore és l'única actriu que aconsegueix dues candidatures, si escau ambdues en millor actriu, per Still Alice i per Maps to the Stars.
