Analitzem, per darrera vegada aquest any, les principals categories dels Oscar per veure quines són les principals candidates per a la nominació en la propera edició.

Tot apunta que les pel·lícules que més nominacions rebran aquest any per als Premis de l'Acadèmia són «Dotze anys d'esclau","American Hustle","Gravetat»i«Capità Phillips".

És molt probable que els principals premis es reparteixin majoritàriament entre les tres primeres, mentre que la cinta de Paul Greengrass es podria anar perfectament de buit si no acaba aconseguint algun premi tècnic.

Els que segur que no faltaran a la cita amb la gala dels Oscars, tret de sorpresa majúscula són Chiwetel Ejiofor y Matthew McConaughey, grans aspirants a l'estatueta de millor actor, Cate Blanchett, la futura guanyadora de l'Oscar a millor actriu si ningú no ho remeia, Jared Leto y Michael Fassbender, que es disputaran el guardó de millor actor de repartiment i Jennifer Lawrence y Lupita Nyong'o, rivals a la categoria de millor actriu de repartiment.
