Se han anunciado las nominaciones a los Saturn Awards y «The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug» y «Gravity» parten como favoritas con ocho candidaturas.
Otra de las grandes favoritas para estos premios es «The Hunger Games: Catching Fire» que consigue hasta siete nominaciones.
Pocas coincidencias con los Premios de la Aacademia, como es habitual en estos premios, ninguno de los nominados al Oscar de mejor actor aparecen en estas candidaturas y solo Sandra Bullock por «Gravity» opta a los Saturn Awards tras haber estado nominada al Oscar. En mejor actor de reparto y mejor actriz de reparto tampoco aparece ninguno de los nominados al Oscar.
