La Crítica de Londres ha mostrado su apoyo especialmente a «Mr. Turner» y «Birdman» en las nominaciones a sus premios.
Tanto la cinta de Mike Leigh como la de Alejandro González Iñarritu obtienen hasta siete candidaturas, incluyendo mejor filme y mejor dirección.
«Under the Skin» es la gran sorpresa, consigue hasta cinco candidaturas y se cuela en mejor película y mejor dirección, mismas menciones que «Boyhood» y «The Grand Budapest Hotel«, dos de las cintas más apreciadas por la crítica en esta temporada de premios.
Tres actores consiguen la doble nominación, Benedict Cumberbatch por «The Imitation Game», Eddie Redmayne por «The Theory of Everything» y Timothy Spall por «Mr. Turner», los tres optan a mejor actor y a mejor actor británico.
Julianne Moore es la única actriz que consigue dos candidaturas, en su caso ambas en mejor actriz, por «Still Alice» y por «Maps to the Stars».
