The interesting Argentine film «XX»Won the Bangkok International Film Festival and won the Golden Kinaree for the best film in this fifth edition of the festival.
Directed by Lucía Puenzo and starring Ricardo Darín, Germán Palacios, Valeria Bertuccelli and Inés Efrón, the film tells the story of a hermaphrodite adolescent and the vigilance of her parents for trying to hide or reveal that condition in the face of society.
The Thai festival was a public success: it opened on July 19 and 144 films from 41 countries participated. "XXY", the director's debut feature, had already won the Critics' Week Grand Prize at the last Cannes Film Festival.
