I know, the question sounds weird but it is made with an intention. I think it's not a secret to anyone that Zodiac, the real killer of the zodiac on which David Fincher's film is based, was never captured and it was never known for sure who he was.
Yesterday the film came out quite well in Cannes and today, May 18, it opens in Spain. It seems clear that the film is destined to have a moderate success with the public and the support of a certain sector of the critic. Inevitably, this film will awaken the interest of more than one towards the true story of this highly intelligent psychopath and I already see the documentaries and special programs not without cheap sensationalism that will arise as a result of the hypothetical success that it may have.
Knowing that the Zodiac acted between December 1968 and October 1989 and continued to send letters to the press until 1974, it must have been very old by then - which is unlikely - for it to have died in 2007. This leads me to think that the real Zodiac may be in the theater, sitting next to me with some popcorn, having fun with the film that is based on his crime history and reminiscing about old times. Will you like it? The truth is, I don't know if I want to know.
