Today, November 20, 2015, Adele's highly anticipated third album '25' has been released. Edited by XL / Columbia Records, '25' hopes to be one of the hits of the year, and there are already brave people who dare to give figures in terms of sales during this first week. After the bombshell that has been the premiere of 'Hello', the first single from '25' and # 1 in 28 countries, some hope that this third album will reach 2,5 million copies sold only in its first week. Adele and millionaire sales tend to go hand in hand and, if we get this figure, we would be talking about one of those musical bombs that only happen once every few years, since no one crossed the 2 million barrier in their first week since the year 2000, with the album 'No Strings Attached' by the NSYNC (2,4 million).
The negative point of this premiere has been to confirm that, as already discussed here, '25' will not step on streaming platforms… At least for now. Like it or not (and I speak in the plural for all these artists who have recently refused to publish their most recent works on platforms like Spotify), streaming services are one of the strengths in the current music market . Hopefully it does like Björk and this decision is only eventual.
Only good things can be said of '25'. The production is, as always with Adele's works, an absolute 10. You devour the entire album without realizing it and that is something that few artists achieve today. '25' also has a Deluxe version exclusively for Target stores, which contains three bonus themes.
