Wim Wenders, an anti-globalized director

German filmmaker Win Wenders was walking camera in hand around the G8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany. The idea was to portray protesters and roadblocks, in addition to filming the concert that Bono and Bob Geldof gave in Rostock.

Wenders will make a corto of this documentary and will call it -with a hint of originality- 'Images of the G-8'. This film will be part of a project of the "United Nations Development Program", in which eight other directors participate, including Sean Penn and Gus van Sant.

The German is one of the best living filmmakers in the world. 'The American friend' (1977) was the film that gave him recognition, but his ceiling reached him with 'Paris, Texas' in 1984. Then, he continued making masterpieces such as' Hasta el fin del mundo' or 'So far, so close ', always experimental, difficult to pigeonhole, but poetically and narratively of great quality. Not to lose track of him.
