Will Butler (Arcade Fire) previews material from his solo album 'Policy'

With more than a decade embarked on the Arcade Fire group, Will butler will launch his first solo foray with the next release of 'Policy', his debut album that will be released on March 10, 2015 through the Merge Records label. Driven by the remarkable success achieved by his collaboration with Canadian Owen Pallett on the soundtrack to Her (2013), an Oscar nominee in its category, Butler will try his luck alone this time. The Canadian musician presented a few days ago exclusively 'Take My Side', the first single from the album, on Zane Lowe's program on the British channel BBC Radio 1.

The musician told the press that the new album has been recorded in just one week in the famous Electric Lady Studios in New York, and featured on the drums Jeremy Gara, his partner in Arcade Fire. More related to rock and roll and even to rockabilly according to the material presented so far, Policy will be a fresh, varied and colorful album, in which Butler will show his facet as a multi-instrumentalist more than ever.

Several friends of the musician appear in it, providing the choirs and in the wind instrumentation arrangements. According to the press release issued by his label, the music of 'Policy' it becomes related to the sound of groups and soloists such as Violent Femmes, The Breeders, The Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, The Magnetic Fields, Ghostface Killah and John Lennon.
