In the category of Best Supporting Actor At this year's Oscars everything seems to be between three performers, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Tommy Lee Jones and Christoph Waltz.

Tommy Lee Jones For "Lincoln" he seems the big favorite after winning the Actors Guild award and being supported by the San Francisco Critics.
Although we must not forget either Christoph Waltz who gave the surprise receiving the Globo de Oro in this section for his role in "Django Unchained."
Robert De Niro has received little award this year for its role in "Silver Linings Playbook" and it seems extremely difficult for academics to grant it its third statuette this year.
Alan arkin sounded strong early in the career for his role in "Argo" but so far has not been awarded on any occasion for this film and it seems unlikely that it will win the Oscar.
