Whirr and the transphobic tweets against GLOSS

GLOSS

GLOSS

They say that everyone is free to say whatever they want: 'freedom of expression' they call it. The problem with all this arises when your face and your music begin to have some repercussion and your opinions begin to be taken seriously. Are you nobody? You can comment -more or less- what you want. Are you known? You will pay dearly for each of the nonsense you say.

Rock band Whirr has made headlines thanks to some transphobic comments dumped through your Twitter account. According to the band itself, the Twitter account is run by a friend of theirs and everyone blames this person for the comments made. Anyway, the seriousness of the comments has served so that the labels associated with the band put them on the street instantly, detaching themselves one hundred percent from that type of opinion.

The comments not only directly attacked the punk band GLOSS and their transsexual vocalist, but also poked fun at the suicide rate of the transsexual community. Whirr have apologized through a statement making it clear that those opinions have nothing to do with them. What happens from now on will depend on your work and your desire to leave your social media accounts in the hands of third parties. By the way, in the statement of the ex-Whirr labels there were messages of support for the band GLOSS, so they have even done them a favor. Here is the audio of the GLOSS demo (Girls Living Outside of Society's Shit). If you like punk, you are going to love this.
