"From tears to cry when it's worth it ..."
Have I ever ended up so jaded by the continual play on words - conveniently contrived - that I often heard in the songs of Joaquín Sabina, that I was losing interest in his music. Shortly after I ran into him Tell me on the street (Sony BMG/Ariola, 2002) and I had no choice but to acknowledge being in front of one of the best - perhaps the best - albums of his authorship.
All that process that began with a cerebral infarction -which would lead to a drastic reduction in drugs, alcohol and tobacco- must have plunged him into a strong depression. Fortunately, he came out of it well and returned with an outstanding job under his arm, full of introspection, bohemianism and his peculiar way of seeing life.
