"We Turn Red": Red Hot Chili Peppers Presents New Single

We Turn Red RHCP

In recent weeks Red Hot Chili Peppers offered a couple of previews of their next album, with the release of the singles 'Dark Necessities' and 'The Getaway', and this week has returned to the load with its novelties presenting a third advance with the unpublished 'We Turn Red', a more rock song that follows the more classic tradition of the RHCP.

The first singles presented have shown a more funky sound, in which Flea's bass takes a central role and is combined with string arrangements and more hip-hop touches from the group's singer, Anthony Kiedis. During the last days, the band is currently filming the video for 'Dark Necessities', which is being directed by famous New York actress Olivia Wilde.

These three advances ('Dark Necessities', 'The Getaway' and 'We Turn Red') have been part of the promotion of 'The Getaway', the Californian band's eleventh studio album, and the first since their last album, 'I'm with you', released almost five years ago, in August 2011. 'The Getaway' will be released worldwide on next week, Friday, June 17, through the Warner Music label. The new Red Hot Chili Peppers work was produced by the well-known Danger Mouse and mixed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

As part of the promotion of the new album, last week Kiedis made an appearance on James Corden's hit American show 'The Late Late Show', participating in the famous 'Carpool Karaoke' segment, in which the English comedian appeared alongside Kiedis singing several of RHCP's best-known hits as they drove through the streets of Los Angeles in full view of the world.

The Californian group has announced its stopover in Spain several weeks ago to present the new work live, at the Barclaycard Center in Madrid on September 27 and 28 (sold out) and at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on October 1 and 2 (sold out for the first night).
