This has been one of the most talked about projects by the tireless legion of Harry Potter fans in recent years. Since 2015, when the first news came to light that a film was being made about Voldemort, the excitement began.
However, from Warner Bros, owners of the trademark, they quickly came out to deny the information. The "heirs" of Bugs Bunny clarified that beyond the new saga Fantastic Animals, there was no other project anchored within the universe created by JK Rowling Developing.
This is how it became known that a small Italian production company was the one who was working on this idea. After an accusation of copyright infringement, the Hollywood company allowed production to continue its march. As long as the movie no officer will not generate any economic benefit to those responsible.
Voldemort: the origins of the heir. A necessary story
Anything that is related to the universe of the most famous magician in the world generates an instant curiosity in the public. AND if there is a character who left a lot to exploit, it is Lord Voldemort.
The motivations of Potter's "archrival" were never very clear. This was also not a factor that the story would have needed to advance or maintain its coherence. This is a bad, very bad villain, whose presence balances this entire magical world.
But after 8 movies and 7 books, someone needs to answer a few questions regarding the once-a-time wizard at Hogwart. After all, it's about one of the most important evil characters in universal fiction. Almost at the level of Dark Vader.
A "FanMovie" better than many "official" movies
It was a € 15.000 budget and I really wanted to. This was the investment made by the Tryangle production company to carry out the project. Part of the funds came from a Kickstarter campaign that in a short time met the established goal.
All the doubts about the quality of the film they are in the environment. A story made by fans, within a fantastic universe like the one that surrounds Harry Potter, seems almost a joke. But after the first trailer was released in mid-2017, the story at least earned the benefit of the doubt.
The final result, available for free and for everyone on YouTube, it's at least nice. With all the limitations that a production like this obviously has, Voldemort: the origin of the heir, it's a worthy movie.
Best
The quality of the visual effects has not left anyone indifferent, as has the mix of the sound effects. While it might be expected that these were the flaccid points within a production of this style, it has turned out just the opposite.
The post-production team knew how to make the most of the technological tools available to them. Offering in addition a finish superior to that of some mega production sequences such as The Justice League. Or that of the "official" Harry Potter movies themselves.
The "regular"
Gianmaria Pezzato, the director of this adventure, uses an economy of shots during the outstanding action sequences. In the absence of being able to deploy a battery of large explosions or use gigantic scenarios, the camera shows enough so that the viewer does not lack information.
At the same time, the script maintains a coherent and easy-to-follow narrative line. However, some extremely long and overly explanatory dialogues, end up undermining the development of history.
Are these The same extensive parliaments that also threaten Pezzato's staging. When the characters have many things to tell each other, the director seems not to know what to do with the image.
Similarly, a imprecise montage also makes the development of the story less natural. The same as incidental music that at times is very efficient, but in some sequences seems to lose its tone.
Worst
Selection of actors. Although these are actors with a perfect command of their characters, the ages do not correspond with the story. Finally, the dubbing is just outrageous; so much as to give the feeling that audio and video are running out of sync.
