VH1 pays tribute to Ronnie Dio

The music channel VH1 will pay tribute to Ronnie James Dio for all of Latin America: the program will be repeated 'That metal show', which featured the lead singer who died last Sunday of stomach cancer.

It will be Thursday at 21pm today, and there will be repeats on Saturday at 20pm and Sunday at 16pm. The program goes over the history and current affairs of the greats of heavy rock.

Roonie James Dio was born in New Hampshire in 1942; He entered the world of music with his own group, Elf, and later joined Rainbow, the group of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple.

Later, he entered Black Sabbath in 1980, replacing Ozzy Osbourne, with this band he recorded the classics 'Heaven and Hell' and 'Mob Rules'. Then in 1983 he formed his solo band, God, with which he continued to perform through the years, with brief intervals with the Black Sabbath meetings (lately called Heaven and hell for legal reasons).
