The Universal Music label announced that on March 16 it will release an expanded and remastered edition of Sparkle in the Rain, the sixth studio album by the British group. Simple Minds, work originally published in 1984. The new edition of this classic by Simple Minds will be presented in a deluxe box-set that will contain four CDs and a DVD as the most complete version, in addition to the standard editions in physical and digital format that include Single CD, 'deluxe' double CD, vinyl, blu-ray and digital download. It also includes a special 36-page booklet with extensive notes by Simon Cornwell (SimpleMinds.org), interviews with vocalist Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, as well as previously unreleased photos of the band and memorabilia from the XNUMXs.

Universal's press release details: "Disc one of 'Sparkle in the Rain' is a remastering of the original album at Abbey Road Studios by Andrew Walters and supervised by Charlie Burchill. Disc two contains B sides, some released on CD for the first time. Includes: a live version of 'Hunter And The Hunted', 12 acclaimed remixes of 'Waterfront', 'Speed ​​Your Love To Me', 'Up On The Catwalk' and 'A Brass Band In Africa', and 'Bass Line' , the original instrumental song that would become 'White Day Hot' ".

Disc three was also reported to feature an unreleased concert recorded in Barrowland, in the band's hometown, February 28, 1984. The concert continues on disc four, completing the disc with three songs in a session for BBC Radio 1 in September 1983. The DVD contains a mix of sound 5.1 surround made from multi-track master tapes, by musician / producer Steven Wilson (four-time Grammy nominee).
