Once again, it is the new talents and beauties of Hollywood who must readjust to the classic arguments that in the past made history.
Well, the mythical series of «Gilligan's Island»Will be adapted to the big screen, and by whom? By the same screenwriters who once wrote the original script, sherwood schwartz and son Lloyd Schwarz.
The nice thing about this proposal are the names that appear as new interpreters of the much loved Gilligan and Ginger. For unbelievers like me, I must say that the menjunge achieved is spectacular. Michael Cera, who already played roles in the cinema, in films such as Juno y Super salty, will play Gilligan in this new version. And it will be nothing more and nothing less than Beyonce Knowles, the heart-stopping actress, singer, and dancer, who will play Ginger.
Now, with actors of this caliber (more for Beyonce's physical caliber than for Cera's), will it be possible to adapt the innocent and playful tone of that time? Today's viewers expect Lost level plots, when it comes to islands. If we reveal the use of old formulas in its adaptation to the big screen, we cannot help but be saddened by films such as Charlie's Angels, The Flintstones, Bewitched or The Avengers. So can we expect much more from this adaptation?
The truth, I can't say. The truth is that there is little information about the rest of the cast. Let's not forget that the story of Gilligan's Island is that of a group of men and women who are stranded on an island, due to a very important storm, and have, on a daily basis, to deal with the multiple possibilities of escape that exist, finding themselves always with failure because of one of those who make up the group.
