The world of mourning music: David Bowie passes away.

Bowie passes away

We have stayed Orphans of one of the most charismatic stars, followed, and consolidated, the music scene over many years. There are many of us who have grown up with his music, Bowie has been our vital companion throughout our lives, and today he has left us. He was 69 years old.

David Bowie has died of cancer, whose existence very few knew. His own agent denied that the star had this disease. Apparently he had been battling cancer for 18 months. He leaves us, leaving us his latest legacy, “Blackstar”, which ranks number twenty-five in his long career, and which has been well received by critics.

The news has been published on the mythical singer's official Twitter, and confirmed by his own son. Bowie was born in 1947 in Brixton, London. The world fame that has accompanied him throughout his life was achieved with "Space Oddity". It was the year 1969, and this work catapulted the young artist to number five in the British ranking of best-selling singles.

Three years of testing and readaptation of his style led him to resurface again with his single "Starman", within the album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars".

His latest work, "Blackstar", was recently featured with a haunting and disturbing music video for one of his songs. In the video clip, Bowie is blindfolded, in a mental hospital. It lasts four minutes and involves the release of “Lazarus”, one of the work's themes, which has only seven songs, but with the quality to which we are accustomed.

In recent years there has been much speculation about the health of the musical star. But Bowie has always preserved his personal life very much, and his public appearances have been very rare. The last concert that he performed was in New York, for charity purposes, in 2006. David Bowie was married twice, the second time to the well-known model Iman, and he has had two children.

Bowie will always live in our hearts, and his flame will never go out.
