The New York quintet The Walkmen will present this Saturday at the Círculo de Arte de Toledo his new work Heaven. This will be their second concert in Spain after the one they offered last week at the San Miguel Primavera Sound Barcelona.
Formed in 2002 by members of the indie rock bands Jonathan Fire Eater and The Recoys, The Walkmen quickly rose to prominence among the populous. 'garage' scene from New York with their debut album Everyone Who Pretends To Like Me Is Gone (2002)
If this first album was focused on sonic exploration, his next work, Bows & Arrows (2004), strengthened their sound and provided the band's best-known theme and for many indie anthem, "The Rat."
The discs would follow A Hundred Thousands Off (2006) Pussy Cats Starring The Walkmen (2006) and You & me (2008) that once again catapulted them to the top, being rated by the web portal specialized in independent music Pitchfork as "the great sound you've always wanted." In 2010 they presented their penultimate album, Lisbon.
The Walkmen are Hamilton Leithauser (voice, guitar), Paul Maroon (guitar, piano), Walter Martin (organ, bass), Peter Bauer (bass, organ) and Matt Barrick (drums).
