The filming of «The victory dance«, Last film that led the gneial Fernando Trueba, after four years of having said goodbye to "El Milagro de Candeal."
The film would be soon for its premiere, with the participation of Ricardo Darín as the protagonist. The filming took place in Chile, and the film is an adaptation of the book by Antonio Skármeto, a Chilean who also wrote "El Cartero de Neruda" (unsuccessfully adapted to the cinema).
Along with the writer, it was Trueba himself and his son, Jonás Trueba, who made the script. The story is about a professional thief (Darín), a young man who is in jail for stealing a horse, played by Abel Ayala, who also participated in "El Niño de Barro", and a young woman who can only express herself through dance , played by the Chilean Miranda Bodenhofer. In this trio there will be elements of romance, but also comedy and film noir. I mean, something strange.
It is known that, apart from this work, Trueba already has two scripts on hold, with part of the cast confirmed. Penelope Cruz will interpret "Haunted Heart", and for "The artist and the model" it is only known that it will be a drama set in Nazi-occupied France.
A proposal, "The Dance of Victory", which I hope is better than the failure of the previous adaptation of Skármeta's work. Although, coming from the hand of Trueba, I have faith that it will be a film, at least, recommended.
