El Mar del Plata International Film Festival (Argentina) will go from March to December, as reported. The Argentine Film Institute pointed out that the 23rd international festival -which should have been carried out next month- will take place between December 4 and 14.
The measure is due to the fact that in March there are many important festivals and they overlap when it comes to finding films of interest. In addition, the guests will have more time available to visit the seaside resort, since the main class A festivals in the world take place during the first semester. The official announcement would be made this next week.
It should be remembered that the Mar del Plata Festival is a class A event, the only one in Latin America, and one of the five in the world in that category. But its low promotion and government mismanagement have made it fall into oblivion, when decades ago it was among the most prestigious in the world.
