The life of the chess player, Bobby fischer, recently deceased (he passed away on January 17 at the age of 64), will be taken to the cinema by the Universal production company. The project will go hand in hand with the director kevin macdonald and in principle the film will have the title Bobby Fischer Goes to War (Bobby Fischer goes to war).
As reported to the press, the film will be based on a book by David edmonds y John eidinow that begins begins by narrating the triumph of Fischer, at the age of 29, about Boris Spassky in the 1972 World Chess Championship. In addition to this, it is also worth highlighting the duel against Spassky in Reykeavik (Iceland), 24 games later, his coronation as world champion and his public reappearance after some years of staying out of the media, with the breaking of the international boycott of the former Yugoslavia in 1992.
