El Lemon Pop indie music festival, held in Murcia, grows year after year in terms of the public and the quality of its grid. Through the event they have passed The Only Ones, and in previous editions the influx climbed to 25.000 spectators.
The fourteenth edition will bring the Scots BMX Bandits, the Norwegian pop singer Vibeke Saugestad, the English The School, the Swede Joel Alme, the group Mam, the local Illuminados, Boat Beam, Half Foot Outside and Ginger Lynns. In addition, a tribute to Elefant Records on its 20th anniversary and a small fest within it, the VivaLemonPop Party, animated only by Murcian bands.
Despite the rumors that spoke of a probable cancellation of the fest, the authorities came out to deny it, but recognized that the event went through and is going through difficult times: “We have planned the 14th edition of the Lemon Pop Fest as an exercise of resistance. The most sensible thing would have been to disappear in silence. But even if the winds are unfavorable for independent festivals, we didn't feel like throwing in the towel. We think we have something to say before goodbye » the organizers communicated.
This year's Lemon Pop will be held on September 3, 4 and 5 in Murcia, and will be totally free, just as they were in the past seasons.
