The title says a lot about a movie that has left me at the right point of nowhere. I don't even know if I consider it good, or bad, or educational, although it sounds strange. The film is presented as a message to all those who are at that point where things begin to become final. About time, about love, about passion, about relationships, fatherhood, fidelity.
A group of friends, each in different personal circumstances. The protagonists, lives with his girlfriend, who is pregnant with a girl. Another who has just married, another married with a child, and in total crisis. Another whose father is about to die, and lives subject to the ghost of his ex-girlfriend. And finally, the hippie of the group who sleeps with a different one every night.
The need to escape, the need for air and time to think. The need for life to make sense, or at least to live an adventure, is what motivates them in everything they do. That's why they run away, that's why they're unfaithful, that's why they explode. At the same time, the parents of one of the female protagonists are experiencing a crisis similar to that of the young, but from the other extreme. From the fear of having to end life with someone who generates little, neither in the soul nor in the body.
A kind of lesson that nothing is as serious as it seems, even when the matter is serious. A kind of sign that, although eternal adolescence must end, this is not the death of anyone.
Ultimately, I think the movie is pretty good. But it is not excellent in its form, nor in its argument. It's just pretty good.
