The Hunger Games, Prequel Coming

Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games

The followers of these saga of youth science fiction are in luck. The Hunger Games will have a prequel saga. This has been made clear by Michael Burns, vice president of Lionsgate, who has revealed that the studio intends to produce "prequels." And he has not hesitated to say that the saga "will live over and over again." With which the study will join the new spinoff tide that will arrive in the coming years.

But to delve a little deeper into this idea we have to direct us to what has been going on in previous years to this latest saga invented by Suzanne Collins. And in relation to this Burns has also spoken with the following words:

"If we go back obviously the sands will exist. " «The intention is not to glorify violence by telling random stories set in the sands but to continue Suzanne Collins' exploration of just war concepts.«.

Personally I think it is the same but said in other words. Because they can explore whatever they want, but if they do it without the characters of the first saga it will have to be with new characters and almost randomly.

This says a lot about a type of audience that fills the sagas at different times of the year. There are not so many young adult novels that give enough material to make movies. Well, this last part of The Hunger Games has performed quite well at the box office. The adolescent public, family, demands more material and the producers so happy with this. I personally am not convinced by these types of initiatives because I consider that it is much better to create new and original stories to bring this last stage in the history of cinema out of that endless and boring lethargy in which it has been submerged.
